Project P.I.T.T. Tools Tier List

Which physics gadgets deserve sticky upgrades and prime slots in your Maw line.

Tools Tier List

This tools tier list ranks Project P.I.T.T. physics gadgets for feeding rubber ducks—and later products—into The Maw with maximum combo profit. It assumes you already understand sticky upgrades from the Early Upgrades Tier List and Upgrades. Catalog detail lives on Physics Tools; line recipes live on Automation Builds.

Ranking lens

Tools are graded for lane reliability, combo density, jam reduction, and scaling into box bulk feeding. A tool that is hilarious but idle ranks lower than a boring fan that never stops. Demo and early full-release contexts dominate; August 19, 2026 content waves may reshuffle specialty ranks—see Release Date and Demo.

S tier

Panels. The skeleton of every build. Walls, ramps, funnels, recovery shelves—panels make other tools look smarter than they are. Sticky panels are non-negotiable.

Fans. Best continuous duck mover in early play. A sticky fan corridor is the default automation spine for the demo. Even after boxes arrive, fans finish spills and side-streams.

Pistons (sticky, timed). S-tier when synced to product cadence. They punch bursts that combo audio loves. Untimed, drifting pistons fall to B until upgrades catch up.

A tier

Launchers. A-tier throughput monsters once sticky aim and soft landings exist. Without recovery panels they waste product and combo potential.

Magnets. A-tier control tools for clustering and curve correction. Essential when spray kills chains; optional in a perfect narrow chute.

Remote. A-tier for multi-station lines and true walk-away cycles. Situational in a tiny single-room build, indispensable as the facility grows with The Maw.

B tier

Brooms. B-tier heroes. They do not print combos, but they prevent automation death spirals. Sticky a broom where jams always form.

Secondary motion tools. A second fan or piston is B when the first is already sticky and profitable. Great for hybrid duck-and-box layouts described with Boxes and Containers.

Recovery-focused panel kits. Still panels, but specialized catch floors rank B as add-ons after the main chute.

C tier

Golf club. C as a ranked feeder, S as a vibe. Use it for clutch rim taps and stuck crates—not as your main Maw engine. Sticky priority stays low unless your whole run is putter-based comedy.

Novelty placements and overbuilt corkscrews. Fun discovery toys that break when appetite spikes. Experiment during discovery walks, then return to boring S-tier lanes for profit.

Match tools to products

Rubber ducks elevate fans and light pistons—see Rubber Ducks and Products. Boxes elevate wide panels, careful launchers, and broom insurance. When products change, re-read this list instead of forcing duck-era S picks into crate physics. Hybrid shifts often keep an S-tier duck fan stream beside an A-tier box launcher.

How to spend after reading ranks

  1. Panels sticky.
  2. Fan or piston sticky.
  3. Magnet or launcher based on spray versus range problems.
  4. Remote when walking hurts.
  5. Broom sticky at the eternal jam.
  6. Golf club last.

Operationalize with How to Automate and How to Chain Combos. New interns should still clear Getting Started and Controls before rearranging the entire plant around a tier letter. Soft quirks that change real-world ranks sit on Tips and Secrets.

Versus early upgrades list

If a tool is S here but you cannot sticky it yet, follow the early upgrades list first. A drifting S-tier fan is a B-tier experience. The Tier List Hub exists so you can bounce between unlock order and gadget value without confusing them.

Pick boring S-tier tools. Make them sticky. Let The Maw hear the combos while you craft the next box.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the demo, The Maw, and launch day.

What is the best overall tool?

Panels, because they make every other tool consistent. Among movers, sticky fans are the safest early S-tier pick.

Why is the golf club C-tier?

It is excellent for clutch saves but poor as a primary feeding engine compared with fans, pistons, and launchers.

Are launchers always A-tier?

Only with sticky aim and soft recovery landings. Hard scatters without panels waste combos and product.

When does the remote climb the list?

As soon as your automation spans enough distance that walking between triggers breaks combo rhythm.

Should box players change this tier list?

Yes—widen panels and respect launcher risk more. Keep a duck fan stream if bulk dumps kill combo timing.
