This guide explains how to play with that gate so you stop staring at an empty shop and start forcing notifications.

Why the terminal feels empty
Older footage shows dense lists. On current builds, price is necessary but not sufficient. You must satisfy discovery conditions: feed amounts, tool combinations, throw distances, and environmental hints. Each unlock fires a notification and often shows a New tag in the terminal.
If you reload an old save from before 0.2.8, start one fresh elevator intro so progression and save fixes apply cleanly.
Core discovery loops
Feed The Maw. Clean rubber duck dumps remain the heartbeat. Volume and consistency matter more than cinematic launches early. Use Demo Walkthrough if you need a timed plan.

Throw far. Golf Club unlock needs a 15+ meter Maw throw. Practice throw upgrades from Controls first, clear a lane, and aim for distance over combo size once.
